These prestigious annual awards celebrate the efforts and achievements of law firms across Europe and highlight the most impressive achievements of female lawyers across the continent. They recognise women, such as Emma, who are leading their practice specialisms.
Emma Doherty is a partner in Matheson’s market-leading Corporate and Commercial Department and is also a member of the firm's International Business Group. She works with many of the world's leading multinational companies in a broad range of sectors, and advises them on the establishment, expansion and operation of their businesses in Ireland.
Emma advises clients on the complex legal issues that can arise in international transactions, including pre- and post-acquisition integration transactions, IP reorganisations, consolidation and restructuring projects, cross-border mergers and spin-off transactions. Emma regularly leads and project-manages these multi-jurisdictional international transactions.
Emma provides ongoing corporate advice and strategic counselling to clients, including in relation to officers' duties, disclosure and compliance obligations, distributions and complex cash repatriation strategies.
Emma is a member of the Company Law Review Group, the statutory advisory expert body charged with advising the Minister for Business, Enterprise & Innovation on the review and development of company law in Ireland.
